I have traced my Barnes family to Bertie County North Carolina to John Barnes born abt.1640. in about 1800 Cader Barnes migrated to what is now Trigg Co KY, in about 1875 John F. Barnes migrated to Dexter, Cooke Co TX where he died in 1879, his widow Viturea (Cunningham) Barnes migrated to Baum,Chickasaw Nation Indian Territory, now Carter Co OK in about 1886. I grew up in that area.

My mother’s maiden name was Carrell, I have only been able to trace that line to her grandfather John Carrell born abt.1829 (some sources date his birth around 1820-22)in Wake Co North Carolina. He married Julia Ann Truitt in Washington Co AR in 1849.She was the daughter of William Ross Truitt and Catharine Morrow. John died around 1875 and Julia moved her family to Denison, Grayson Co. TX, they settled in the NE Texas and SE Oklahoma area My grandfather, Robert L.Carrell married a widow, Ollie West-Rountree in about 1908. They settled in the Baum OK area about 1920. Ollie West was the daughter of Verdinan Claburn West and Mary Elizabeth Smith. Clayburn West was a 1st cousin to the infamous Jesse Jolly West who was lynched in Ada OK. April 19, 1909 the book “Four Men Hanging” was written about that incident.
